How to insert a Google Adsense code into your blog/webpage

In every hub, blog, or webpage, it would be best to have Google Adsense on it. Well, considering the fact that you'll be earning something out of it, so it's really good to have it in your website. Not only that, Google Adsense posts relevant advertisements that will help your readers find what they want. Let's say, your hub, blog, or webpage is talking about "How to choose the right party dress", Google adsense will post advertisements involving party dresses. In this way, your website increased its value by showing and creating a need, and adsense provide advertisements to fill up that need, so your reader does not have to search the web again just to find that party dress you're talking about in your webpage. It's basically, a "Win-Win" situation for you, Google, and your reader.

How to insert Google Adsense code
Now, let's go to that topic of knowing how to insert Google Adsense code in your website.
First, you need to sign-up with Google. Read it's program policy carefully, not just tick the box that you agree with it, but, really read it. In this way, you can prevent being banned from Google.
Once you're signed up and have read by heart its policies, you're now ready for the next step.
Check your website. You need to have a content that complies to Google Adsense's policy. Also, you need to check if your website have a HTML page where you can paste your adsense code. Some website, like Hubpages, already post adsense automatically on your hub. Blog have tools where you can use to post adsense on it, you just have to know where to place the ads on your webpage.
Now, after knowing your tools within your webpage and you just need the Adsense code to paste in your HTML page, you can go to Google Adsense and log in.
In Google Adsense page, you'll see four tabs - Reports, AdSense Setup, My Account, Resources.
Click on Adsense Setup tab, then go to Get Ads. Here, you'll see three choices - AdSense for Content, AdSense for Search, and Adsense for Feeds. Let's go to the easiest and most popular Adsense product - the AdSense for Content.
On this page, you'll have to choose your Ad type, if you want it to be like an Ad unit or a link unit. Let's choose the most effective one - the Ad unit, then click on Continue.
Now, you have to choose the format you want and the colors. 250 x 250 square is my favorite format. For the color, it needs to blend with your webpage. This is important so that you can create an impression that what you're showing is not a mere advertisement, but something that the reader can check out because it's part or related to your topic. You can preview your unit to check your settings before clicking on continue.
After choosing your format and color, you can assign a channel to track the performance of your advertisement. This is optional. Just click on the "Learn more..." link on that page to get further information about channels. Once, you're done, click continue.
Then, you can name your Adsense unit and submit to get the code. All you have to do is copy that code and paste it in the HTML of your website. To look for your HTML, you can either check if you have a HTML editor or at the top page of your web browser, look for View > Source > then it will give you a notepad with the HTML codes on it. Just paste the code where you want it to appear in your website.

For mireland19, thanks. Finding where html editor is located depends on what website you are using. The last screenshot I posted shows where html editor can be found in blogspot, but then again, it's different for other websites.
Ohh I have yet to figure out Adsense!! I have written over 40 hubs and my accumulated fortune has just topped five dollars!!! I am having a very difficult time at my home computer which has windows VISTA. It is not easy to figure out. Nice job trying to explain Adsense But i think it is not that simple :)
LOL. I guess earning through adsense will really depends on your hub's traffic and if you are generating reasonable clicks on the ads posted. Anyway, there are different ways to add codes for adsense depending on what you are using. For Hubpages, we don't have to do anything but to enable adsense through the affiliate setting. If you have another website, you can add three adsense products - adsense for content, adsense for search, and adsense for feeds. Thanks for your comment. :)

I tried to use the similiar addsense programe, It was AdBrite. I wanted to publish via my bloger, they gave me similiar code, the saimilar picture of blogger you posted can be seen as wel but whenever I try to post, it says the scrips is incorrect or like that the following one......

Hi Jenny, for AdBrite, if you are entering an html, make sure that you close it with this symbol < > to close it. But it would be best if you just use the layouts that AdBrite already provided so that it will fit your website. For HTML codes, we have different websites so you could learn more about it. I would recommend w3schools.com

I followed the steps and i tried copying my code to my site but not sure if it is right. Google ads do appear on my website but when you copy and paste your code, r u suppose to see it? for. example i created a side bar and then copied it into the html box they given and saved it then published it but when I went to preview it, I saw nothing. I have been trying t get this to work for weeks. very fustrating..

Hi, thanks for the comment. Hubpages automatically generate ads on our articles, and only uses our codes so we can get our share whenever a reader clicked on a google ad. This means that, we do not have to put google ads manually. You need to make sure that you accurately posted your affiliate code from google adsense to hubpages' affiliate settings. To do this, from your hubpages account, go to affiliate settings, and you will see the affiliate code. If it matches what you have in google adsense, then you're good to go. All you have to do is to make interesting articles. Do not forget to add at least 15 tags per article, and the url, needs to match your topic.

Really a nice way to put the Adsense code, I am also blogger and have simply put a Adsense widget to display a Google Ads.It's completely depend on which tool we are using if we are developing the website then definitely we have to choose html or script from Google Adsense account and if blogger.com user then we can use Adsense widget to show Google ads.

Nice explanation of how to add Adsense to a website but you're wront re Adsense being a must. Although Adsense looks easy to a beginner its in fact one of the hardest programs to make good money in. Most publishers are smartpriced because they don't send quailty traffic. You really should be using sophisticated software which only displays Adsense to your search traffic not your return visitors.
If might be useful to include how to whitelist your site too so that Adsense is only counted on the list of urls you add this helps prevent fraud when your ID is used on other sites: somthing which seems to be happening around hubpages a bit recently
